# THE SILHOUETTE
I don't want a conventional mermaid gown.
I want something that looks like **a woman emerging from a river and becoming royalty.**
### Upper body
**Strong, sculptural shoulders.**
Not huge shoulder pads, though.
Think two sweeping curved structures extending slightly outward from the shoulders, almost like **waves frozen in motion**.
Then a very fitted bodice underneath.
The neckline could be:
**asymmetric sweetheart / soft off-shoulder neckline**
rather than a standard straight neckline.
That gives you femininity while the shoulders give you authority.

# 🌊 THE “RIVER” ELEMENT
This is where we make the outfit recognizable.
Instead of putting random fish and shells everywhere, I'd create **three-dimensional flowing beadwork**.
Starting around your waist/hip:
**gold → pearl → crystal → blue beads**
and letting the pattern travel diagonally down the gown like a river current.
Then the train continues the same movement.
From the front, you'd see:
**woman → river → train.**
From the back, the train becomes the biggest reveal.
### The train
I want **two layers**.
**Under-layer:** deep midnight/royal blue.
**Top layer:** translucent icy blue/white organza or tulle.
So when you walk, the sheer layer moves over the blue underneath like water.
And we can scatter tiny reflective stones through it so it catches light like the surface of a river.

# 👑 THE HEADPIECE
THIS is where I'm getting excited.
I don't want an ordinary gele.
I want a **Yemọja-inspired sculptural crown/gele hybrid.**
Picture a traditional Yoruba headwrap transformed into something architectural:
**large circular/spiral form around the head → layered like waves → gold framework → pearls/crystals woven through it.**
Not a literal crown.
More like:
> **“The river itself became her crown.”**
And because you're petite, this gives you vertical presence.

# 🐚 THE DETAILS
We can use symbols carefully.
### Pearls
Represent the water/river environment and give you that luminous quality.
### Cowries
Could appear selectively as a wealth/heritage detail rather than covering the whole outfit.
### Fish
**Very subtle.**
Instead of giant fish appliqués, I would have tiny fish silhouettes hidden within the beadwork.
So if somebody looks closely:
**“Wait… are those fish?”**
That's sophisticated.
### Fan
YES.
But not a regular feather fan.
I'd design a **large circular fan inspired by rippling water**, perhaps with concentric gold lines and translucent blue sections.
You hold it during your entrance.
Then you close it.
That can become part of your presentation.
